King Street is now home to chef-restaurateur Kala. Following up from the acclaimed Hispi in Didsbury, this could be another gastro hit for the much-loved chef. Usher's culinary collection also includes the much-loved Sticky Walnut, Burnt Truffle, Wreckfish and Pinion, a number of which have been crowdfunded by members of the public - an indication of the superb quality of cooking.
Head to Kala for breakfast, Sunday lunch and an a la carte offering; similar to that of its predecessors. Expect the same neighbourhood-style bistro with a love for seasonal dishes and beautifully paired ingredients. Take a seat at the bar, where elevated snacks await, or make your way to the spacious 65-cover dining area for the likes of torched plaice teamed with pickled cucumber, tempura anchovies, samphire and chervil sauce.
